safeT1D Terms of Use
Please read these before relying on safeT1D. The most important part comes first.
Last updated October 29, 2026
Not a medical device
safeT1D is a parental-control tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, monitor or manage diabetes or any other condition. It does not read, display or act on glucose readings or insulin doses.
safeT1D does not replace your continuous glucose monitor (CGM), its alarms, your insulin pump, your diabetes care team's instructions, or your child's school health plan (such as a 504 plan). Keep following them.
Who accepts these terms
safeT1D is used on a child's device, but a parent or legal guardian must accept these terms on the child's behalf. By setting up safeT1D, you confirm you are the child's parent or legal guardian, you accept these terms for yourself and the child, and you are responsible for the child's use of safeT1D.
Your responsibilities
safeT1D limits a phone to the apps you choose. Because a mistake in that list could silence an alert, you agree to:
- Add the CGM app, the pump app (if used) and parent contacts to the allowed apps, and confirm each item in the in-app safety checklist yourself. safeT1D cannot see which apps you picked.
- Also add medical apps to iOS Screen Time "Always Allowed", as the checklist describes.
- Test that alerts from allowed apps still arrive (for example, with a short test session) before relying on School Mode, and again after changing apps, phones or iOS versions.
- Keep the phone charged, online and with notifications on, and keep other ways to reach your child and the school.
- Follow your school's rules about phones and medical devices.
You understand that School Mode limits notifications from apps that are not on the allowed list, and you accept that risk. You are responsible for checking that every medical app your child needs is on the allowed list and that its alerts come through before relying on School Mode.
No guarantee
safeT1D depends on iOS, Screen Time, iCloud and Apple's notification service, which can change, be delayed or fail. Reports and requests between phones may arrive late or not at all. To the fullest extent the law allows, safeT1D is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and S4 Solutions does not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that any alert, notification or report will be delivered.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, S4 Solutions, LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any harm arising from a missed or delayed alert, notification or report, from use of or inability to use safeT1D, or from relying on it instead of the measures listed above. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
To the fullest extent the law allows, S4 Solutions' total liability for all claims relating to safeT1D is limited to $50. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.
License and Apple's terms
safeT1D is free. It is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, and these terms add to it. If they conflict, these terms apply to the extent the EULA allows. Apple is not responsible for safeT1D or its support.
Privacy
How safeT1D handles information is described in the safeT1D Privacy Policy.
Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use safeT1D means you accept it. We will notify you in the app before any material change to these terms takes effect.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia. Any dispute will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia, and you consent to those courts' jurisdiction. Either party may seek injunctive relief in any court with jurisdiction.

Severability
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, that part will be enforced to the maximum extent allowed and the rest of these terms remain in effect.
